On 22 April 2008, the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa was conferred on him by the University of Malta, celebrated by a Settimana Dantesca including Benigni's first stage appearance at a university and the premiere of his performing with Dante scholar Robert Hollander. Jean Hollander, a poet, was in charge of the verse; Robert Hollander, her husband, oversaw its accuracy. Dec 9, 2011 - I don't think it has been translated, which is a shame. Oct 28, 2011 - Reading Dante's Inferno (as translated by Robert Hollander and Jean Hollander) this fall went much better. The Hollanders' Inferno was published in 2000, their Purgatorio in 2003. Now their Paradiso (Doubleday; $40) is out. Authors like Paul Biegel, Annie M.G. Right now, however, I think I would go with the Jean and Robert Hollander translation.
